The general theme of the conference is “Autonomy and responsibility. Educational and Learning Environments in the 21st Century”.
The sub-themes of the conference are these five:
1) Autonomy and responsibility
Throughout history education has sought to help train people to approach and to be able to bear the consequences of their actions and to help them commit to striving for, not only personal gain, but also the common good. However, we have not always been able to properly combine good-quality learning with independence coupled with a sense of personal, social and ethical responsibility. This section will analyze and discuss research and studies on the meaning of social responsibility in the XXI century, as well as focusing on what kind of responsibility the modern society needs to adopt.
2) School
The section School includes all the research and /or reflections that consider the school as a relevant and optimal place for training in autonomy and responsibility. The works presented may revolve around issues such as school models or ways of approaching the school that have emerged in recent years, new teaching profiles, the ethical dimension of the teaching profession, school competencies, self-development and responsibility, educational policy in relation to the autonomy and responsibility of social institutions in achieving a higher quality of education and more social inclusion, etc.
3) Families
The section Family includes all the research and /or reflections that consider the family as an ideal place to develop autonomy and responsibility. The works presented may revolve around emerging issues such as family structures, family reconciliation and its impact on education in autonomy and responsibility, family contemporary educational practices, the role of the family as a mediator to the effects of ICT, policies relating to children, youth and family and their impact on the education of new generations of citizens, etc.
4) Society of information and technologies
The section Contexts of the society of information and technologies includes the research and/or reflections that consider ICT as a way of educating on autonomy and responsibility. The works presented may revolve around specific issues such as educational experiences of autonomy and responsibility through ICT, presentation of programs and instruments related to new technologies that are designed to promote such education, analysis of virtual realities, such as social networks, and their impact on the promotion of community size and participation, as well as the development of autonomy and accountability, etc.
